Securing Plant and Equipment – Best Practice
If items hired in from Mervyn Lambert Plant Ltd are left unattended, overnight or at weekends:
Self-Propelled Plant
• All immobilisers and security devices should be activated, all doors locked and keys removed and if possible keys taken off site otherwise locked in a secure building.
• Where possible locked in a secure compound, building or yard.
• Care should be taken to park machines in such a way as to block each other in making opportunistic theft difficult.
Non-Self Propelled &/or Mechanical Plant or Equipment
• Locked in a secure compound, building or yard ideally in a locked site container
